Job Purpose:

The Trainer will design and deliver practical, gender-responsive training for women on compost production techniques, promoting sustainable waste management practices and organic farming methods for income generation and environmental protection (One Day, One Session).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver practical and theoretical training sessions on compost making techniques (organic compost, pit composting, etc.)
  • Develop and implement training plans, manuals, and demonstration materials
  • Educate participants on waste segregation, recycling, and environmental sustainability
  • Conduct hands-on demonstrations for compost preparation, maintenance, and usage
  • Guide trainees on the commercial potential and marketing of compost products
  • Monitor and evaluate trainees’ progress and provide feedback
  • Aware communities in establishing small-scale composting units
  • Ensure health, hygiene, and safety standards during training sessions
  • Prepare training reports, attendance records, and progress documentation
  • Raise awareness on climate change impacts on agriculture and adaptive strategies for small-scale women farmers.
  • Encourage environmentally friendly practices that reduce chemical use and protect local ecosystems.
  • Facilitate discussions on equitable workload distribution, nutrition, household food security, and income generation from surplus produce.

Required Qualifications & Experience:

  • Diploma or certification in Agriculture, Environmental Sciences, or a related field
  • Proven experience in compost making or organic farming
  • Prior experience in training, facilitation, or community mobilization is preferred
  • Strong understanding of sustainable agriculture and waste management practices
  • Practical knowledge of composting techniques.
  • Familiar with Diamer’s Culture, Languages and Topography.
