U.S. Mission Pakistan is seeking applications from qualified individuals for Maintenance Worker position in U.S. Embassy, Islamabad.

 

Basic Function of the Position: The incumbent performs routine and preventative maintenance, repair, and cleaning of major building façades and other structures. Inspects conditions of systems and structures, identifies deficiencies, and performs minor repairs. Remove dust/debris and sanitizes system components. Work performed while utilizing façade access equipment, suspended from roof parapet in a bosun’s chair or platform and/or from an articulating aerial lift. The incumbent performs setup, complete pre-work safety inspections, and ensure proper storage of equipment. Perform work in coordination with Post Occupational Safety and Health Officer and in accordance with Department health and safety protocols. The incumbent supports other Facility Management Operations as assigned. 

Qualification Requirements:

EXPERIENCE: Minimum of one (1) year of façade maintenance and cleaning experience by using suspended working platform is required.

EDUCATION: Completion of elementary school (8 years of education) certificate is required.

Job Knowledge: The incumbent should have knowledge of Bosun's chair, davit arm suspended platform, JLG lift articulating boom platform, knots, ropes, descending and rescue system, safety harnesses, lifelines, and rappelling. Should have knowledge of window and façade cleaning supplies like pressure sprayers, water, soap, squeegees, and safety equipment.

LANGUAGE: Limited knowledge of Speaking/Reading/Writing in English and Good working knowledge of Speaking/Reading/Writing in Urdu is required. English language skills may be tested.

Skills And Abilities: The incumbent must be skillful in operating façade access and suspension equipment systems and perform equipment inspection. Must have excellent interpersonal skills to be able to effectively managed heavy workload and multitask. Must be able to work independently. Must not suffer from Acrophobia- fear of heights as position requires work to be done at an elevation of 200 feet. The incumbent must be able to lift, handle and carry heavy loads up to 50 Kilos. Must be able to operate simple hand tools. Skills and abilities may be tested.
