The U.S. Mission in Pakistan is seeking eligible and qualified applicants for the Warehouse Worker (Truck Driver) in General Services office, Islamabad.
Basic Function of the Position –
The incumbent is responsible for safely and efficiently operating a U.S. Government-owned or leased trucks, large cargo vehicles or other vehicles. The incumbent is also responsible for safe handling, transporting and storage of both expendable and non-expendable items. The incumbent is responsible to transport expendable and non-expendable items to and from the warehouse to office building, residential properties, and other locations.
Qualification Requirements:
EXPERIENCE: Minimum of two (2) years of professional truck or heavy vehicle driving experience is required. In addition to one (I) year of experience in manual labor or warehouse work is also required.
EDUCATION: Completion of primary school (5 years of education) is required.
Job Knowledge: The incumbent should have knowledge of warehouse operation, procedures and security standards. Should have knowledge of maintenance and efficient usage of warehouse storage space. The incumbent should have knowledge of conducting inventory and stacking of items/equipment. Should be familiar with local traffic laws and regulations and in-country travel routes and areas.
Language: Limited knowledge of Reading/Writing/Speaking in English and Good working knowledge of Reading/Writing/ Speaking in Urdu are required. English language skills may be tested.
Skills And Abilities: The incumbent should be able to perform physical work of loading and unloading. Should have ability to handle heavy objects smoothly and have ability to lift a maximum of 50 lbs. The incumbent should be able to use warehouse tools and safely operate equipment such as forklifts, hand trolleys and electronic lifters etc. Valid Pakistani driver's license HTV (Heavy Transport Vehicle) is required to be able to operate light and heavy-duty vehicles including fully armored vehicles. Applicants must show proof that they have a minimum of five years of licensed driving experience. Skills and abilities may be tested.
