Orbit Entreprises Sarl is a leading FMCG company based in Kinshasa, D.R. Congo, specializing in the production of Beverages (Water, Carbonated Soft Drinks and Juice), Cosmetics and in-house Plastic. As part of our commitment to operational excellence, we are seeking experienced persons to join our team and oversee the operations respective areas.

As an Electrical Engineer, the candidate will be responsible for managing all electrical systems and equipment across our beverage production plants. This includes overseeing electrical infrastructure for bottling units, transformers, high-tension (H.T.) lines, power generators, uninterruptible power supplies (UPS), and electrical boiler. The role will be pivotal in ensuring the smooth operation of the electrical functions of our production lines, preventing downtime, and ensuring safety and compliance with industry standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Electrical Systems Management: Oversee all electrical functions across the beverage plants, including the bottling units for water, carbonated soft drinks, and juice, ensuring continuous and efficient operation.
  • High-Tension (H.T.) Lines: Manage and monitor H.T. electrical lines that supply power to the plant, ensuring stability, safety, and minimal downtime.
  • Power Generators: Supervise and maintain power generators to ensure a reliable and uninterrupted power supply to the plant.
  • Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS): Ensure the UPS systems are functioning correctly to provide backup power during power outages, preventing disruptions in production.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and manage a team of electrical technicians, providing direction, technical support, and training.
  • Troubleshooting & Maintenance: Diagnose and resolve electrical issues across the plant’s infrastructure, machinery, and power systems. Conduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance on electrical equipment.
  • Safety and Compliance: Ensure adherence to electrical safety standards, regulations, and best practices in the workplace.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of electrical system operations, maintenance schedules, and compliance checks. Prepare detailed reports for senior management on electrical system performance and energy usage.
  • Project Oversight: Oversee the installation and commissioning of new electrical systems or upgrades to existing ones, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Educational Qualification: A degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field from a recognized institution.
  • Work Experience:
    • Minimum of 10 to 12 years of hands-on experience in electrical engineering within FMCG or beverage manufacturing plants.
    • At least 5 years in a managerial or supervisory role, overseeing electrical operations, teams, and projects.
  • Technical Expertise:
    • Strong expertise in managing electrical systems within production facilities, including bottling units, H.T. lines, power generators, and UPS.
    • In-depth knowledge of power distribution, electrical safety standards, and automation systems in a manufacturing environment.
    • Proven experience in troubleshooting and maintaining complex electrical systems, including those in high-demand production environments.
  • Soft Skills:
    • Strong leadership and team management capabilities, with experience leading multidisciplinary teams.
    • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to perform under pressure.
    • Good communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and senior management.
