CIP is currently recruiting a Senior Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) Officer for the BRAVE project in Sindh Province. The primary objective of this project Lead the implementation of an MHPSS program, ensuring that goals, objectives, and activities are met.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS:
1- Job Responsibilities (70% of time)
- To visit field locations and deliver sessions on Mental Health and Psychosocial Support in the community.
- Conduct Group sessions in the community to psycho educate them on Mental Health & Psychological disorders.
- Conduct group sessions on the Signs and Symptoms of various psychological disorders or issues which they can develop after any stressful time or crises situation.
- Identify patients with psychological disorders and also GBV survivors (who are suffering from any kind of psychological problem).
- Provide individual counselling to those who are identified in the Group Sessions, prepare treatment plans as per the individual needs.
- Conduct recreational activities i.e Deep Breathing Exercises, Art & Craft Activities, Muscle Relaxation techniques, Sports & Games, Mental Games for children, Celebration of different events.
- Provide regular follow-ups with the clients/survivors.
- Provide Psychological First Aid to those who are in need.
- Formation of Mental Health Support groups and sensitize them on MHPSS to work as change agents for MH.
- Prepare a referral system for various needs of the clients/survivors and coordinate with other stakeholders and service providers.

- Print banners of referral pathway and display it in the community for awareness of the community.
- Conduct sessions on Referral and Referral pathway for the community for their understanding.
- Conduct monthly Health Committee Meetings with the Health Committee members/MH Support Groups or Adolescent Groups.
- Conduct seminars in the community on Human Rights, Mental Health and Psychosocial Support and Gender Based Violence and its consequences.
2- Job Responsibilities (15% of time)
- Provide input and ensure MHPSS activities and training around work run according to protocol and program.
- Make sure that all planned activities are in line with project indicators, objectives and timeline.
- Ensure the utilization and implementation of measuring tools to assess success in accordance with indicators of program.
- Ensure programming is on track in absence of direct supervisor; reporting daily on important issues that require supervisor feedback and decision making.
- Assist in the development of M&E tools and mechanisms.
- Ensure the proper implementation and utilization of M&E tools and mechanisms on a regular basis.
- Prepare Activity Reports and share data for the number of people who are approached through awareness sessions.
- Prepare monthly work plan and monthly report by each month. Weekly and Daily plans must also reflect in the monthly plan.
- Monitoring and mentoring of support groups in the community.
3- Job Responsibilities (10% of time)
- Assess the capacity development needs of MHPSS case management staff members.
- Assist in the development of training plan for the MHPSS case management team within the area.
- Follow up on the implementation of trainings, prepare schedules, ensure the training requirements are set and follow up on the implementation – for staff and partners.
- Ensure that all documentation related to training is being filled and properly documented, fill in attendance sheets, pre-post tests, submit training report etc.
- Participating in training, supervision and team meetings, and be main mental health focal point for CIP in the designated area.
- Any other task assigned by the Senior Project Manager.
5- Other responsibilities as assigned (5% of time)
- Any other tasks or responsibilities based on organizational and programming needs as assigned by the Line Manager.
A) Qualifications (Know How)
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in a mental health field of study. An equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
- An advanced degree/qualification in MHPSS or Public Health is desired.

Masters degree in any related field will be preferred.
B) Experience/ Technical Skills
Required
-
Minimum 4 years of previous relevant experience in Mental Health activities and programs. And previous INGO experience.
