Job Description:
The programme aims to empower communities, particularly women, by organising them into livestock producer groups for collective production and the establishment of community-led livestock markets. The psoition ensures overseeing the integration of gender mainstreaming considerations into the project under the guidance of the Project Director and Gender & Inclusion Specialist. The position provides expert advice to gender leads at field offices addressing issues related to the inclusion in MSMEs within the project. The responsibilities include supervising and ensuring that both ORGANIZATION and Partners adhere to project design, reporting, communication, visibility, and other guidelines outlined by ORGANIZATION and the DONOR. This comprehensive approach aims to MSMEs' compliance with gender mainstreaming principles and project requirements, contributing to the success and alignment of project initiatives with broader development goals. More specifically the position is responsible to:
- Ensure gender mainstreaming in all project activities, adhering to guidelines provided by the PD and Specialist-Gender & Inclusion and consulting on compliance as needed.
- Support co-applicant and field staff in implementing key gender components and offer guidance on gender issues.
- Analyse and ensure project interventions consider inclusion for women, persons with disabilities, and transgender individuals.
- Share recent knowledge tools and updates on gender responsiveness with the team; supervise, monitor, and report on gender-related issues in project districts.
- Communicate relevant gender issues within project areas to ORGANIZATION management in consultation with PD and the Specialist-Gender & Inclusion.
- Represent ORGANIZATION in gender working groups, national networks, and attend related conferences and seminars.
- Oversee the collection of sex-disaggregated data, compile lessons learned and establish gender indicators to support knowledge sharing.
- Contribute to concept notes, project documents, policy frameworks, and conduct research to gather best practices on gender issues.
- Regularly share examples of gender and inclusion achievements with ORGANIZATION’s media unit; advocate for ORGANIZATION’s mandate on gender and inclusion.
- Ensure project staff are informed of the Anti-Sexual Harassment Policy and complaint process.
- Assist in organising gender-focused seminars, dialogues, and events aligned with international days.
- Draft clear and persuasive written content, highlighting gender-related progress in project reports.
- Maintain networks for information sharing on gender and inclusion at national and provincial levels; generate new ideas for enhancing gender initiatives.
- Perform additional tasks as requested by the supervisor or Specialist-Gender & Inclusion.
Relevant Education, Experience and Skills:
A minimum of master’s degree in gender studies, legal studies, social sciences, rural development, business administration or related field from an Institution referred to in the world higher education database (http:/www.whed.net/home.php). with a minimum of 5-7 years’ experience, Knowledge of gender and inclusion for project design, planning, and management.

- Working knowledge of MS Office Suit.
