Position Summary

The Monitoring & Evaluation Officer will be responsible for establishing and managing project monitoring systems, ensuring data quality, conducting assessments, tracking progress against indicators, and producing evidence-based reports to support project decision-making and accountability.

Key Responsibilities

Monitoring System Management

  • Develop and maintain project monitoring tools, databases, trackers, and reporting templates.
  • Ensure timely collection, verification, and analysis of project data.
  • Maintain an updated database of beneficiaries and project indicators.

Assessments and Data Collection

  • Lead baseline, midline, and endline assessments.
  • Design and administer literacy and numeracy assessment tools.
  • Conduct data quality checks and verification exercises.
  • Support beneficiary verification and household-level data collection.

Performance Tracking

  • Monitor enrollment, attendance, retention, and learning outcome indicators.
  • Analyze trends and identify implementation gaps or risks.
  • Develop dashboards and periodic performance summaries.
  • Track project progress against targets and results frameworks.

Reporting and Documentation

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, midline, and final M&E reports.
  • Generate statistical summaries, indicator updates, and performance analyses.
  • Support donor reporting requirements through timely and accurate data.
  • Document lessons learned, best practices, and success stories.

Field Monitoring

  • Conduct regular monitoring visits to schools, ALP centers, and project sites.
  • Verify attendance records, enrollment documentation, and distribution records.
  • Support monitoring of parental engagement sessions and community activities.

Data Quality and Accountability

  • Establish data quality assurance procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with data protection and safeguarding standards.
  • Maintain secure storage and confidentiality of beneficiary information.
  • Support audits, evaluations, and external reviews.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Education, Social Sciences, Development Studies, Economics, Data Management, or a related field. Master's degree will be preferred.
  • Minimum 2–3 years of experience in monitoring, evaluation, accountability, learning, or research-related roles.
  • Experience working on education, child protection, or community development projects will be an advantage.
  • Demonstrated experience in quantitative and qualitative data collection and analysis.

Required Skills

  • Strong analytical and data management skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and database management.
  • Experience in using digital data collection tools such as KoboToolbox, ODK, SurveyCTO, or similar platforms will be an added advantage.
  • Excellent report writing and presentation skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to data quality.
  • Ability to conduct field monitoring and work under minimal supervision.

Language Requirements

  • Fluency in English and Urdu (written and spoken).
