Education:

Master degree in Health sciences or relevant qualifications MBBS/MPH will be preferred. IPC diploma/certification will be an asset

Relevant Experience:

 At least 3 - 5 years of prior work experience in the relevant field, Training and Coordination of Infection Prevention and Control Program. Person having direct IPC implementation and training will be preferred 

Job Description: 

Specific responsibilities of the Infection Prevention Coordinator include but are not limited to:

  • Develop tools to conduct IPP (Infection Prevention Practices) at the facility level.
  • Continuous ongoing monitoring & provision of knowledge/refresher, what & when required at the facility regarding IPP.
  • Assist Program Manager for field assessment for IPC.
  • Design IPC assessments for facility and community.
  • Assist Manager to develop/design training material required for IPP at the facility.
  • Develop material for IPP demonstration at community level.
  • Demonstrate expert clinical knowledge through problem solving and decision making.
  • Conduct needs assessments using a variety of strategic tools. Assists learners in the assessment of needs and identification of outcomes.
  • Incorporate principles of adult learning in the planningimplementation and evaluation.
  • Develops/coordinates plans related to initial and ongoing competency validation.
  • Delivers competence based programs with a focus upon improvement of IPP and retention of knowledge.
  • Supports staff development with educational activities.
  • Prepares short and long term planning and programs to address identified needs
  • Undertake the necessary components of the performance review process.
  • Promote and participate in quality improvement activities and organizational accreditation processes.
  • Participate in relevant committeesmeetings and service activities as required and provide relevant feedback and dissemination of appropriate information.
  • Participate in critical incident debriefings as required.
  • Ensures that programs are congruent with organizational missions, valueand goals.
  • Develop the technical report and ppts for programs activities, donor and stakeholders
  • Maintains flexibility when managing multiple roles and responsibilities.
  • Interprets and communicates across multiple disciplines
  • Conduct IPC trainings in selected Districts
  • Any other task assigned by supervisor
